Tenderness contains an element of sadness. It is not the sadness of feeling sorry for yourself or feeling deprived, but it is a natural situation of fullness. You feel so full and rich, as if you were about to shed tears. Your eyes are full of tears, and the moment you blink, the tears will spill out of your eyes and roll down your cheeks. In order to be a good warrior, one has to feel this sad and tender heart. Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche

I once worked with a lady who hung the clothes with matching coloured pegs. It annoyed her to see her neighbours washing on the line with mis matched coloured pegs!
You see Ruth, these people make us realise there are issues out there which need addressing!
I blame society for supplying multi-coloured pegs!
One colour clothes pegs I say!
The Beecher family is from Connecticut, my home state, and I worship Harriet Beecher Stowe. Henry was her brother.
As for the clothespins (the proper word for these!): I've never seen colored pins. We have wooden ones with metal springs. These in the photo are very odd and short.
Was Henry right? Or do we hang words off of ideas? This will be needling me all day!
There is a difference in what they are called and what they look like in different countries but they all serve the same purpose. I can remember seeing different colored ones made from plastic and there were the old wooden ones that we used to make clothes pin dolls out of. What a wonderful invention!
Words are powerful, and a single one can spark all sorts of ideas.
When I see those I think always:
"Monday is wash-clothing day!"
Nice photo, I love the detail this way!:)
that reminds me i haven't done my laundry in 2 weeks now!!!! No i'm, not a slob...just busy!!!!!
