“For there is no friend like a sister, in calm or stormy weather,

to cheer one on the tedious way, to fetch one if one goes astray,

to lift one if one totters down, to strengthen whilst one stands.”

Did I say once before, "I wish I had a sister"? Luckily I have brothers and one of mine almost serves this same purpose.

This is so true, I am blessed with two sisters. Both are my dear friends.

I do so love that quote.
My sister is my greatest treasure (one sister in particular....I have three!) I am so grateful to my mother for producing her only a year and 6 days after me (she was very premature!) Knowig how important my sister is to me I feel so very sorry for those who don't have one!!!!!

Tenderness contains an element of sadness. It is not the sadness of feeling sorry for yourself or feeling deprived, but it is a natural situation of fullness. You feel so full and rich, as if you were about to shed tears. Your eyes are full of tears, and the moment you blink, the tears will spill out of your eyes and roll down your cheeks. In order to be a good warrior, one has to feel this sad and tender heart. Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche
