Years ago we discovered the exact point, the dead centre of middle age.

It comes when you are too young to take up golf and too old to rush up to the net.

I must be past middle age, as much as I hate to admit it.

I'm afraid that although I'm 57 on the outside I'm still a girl on the inside. I have never thought of myself as a woman.....my Mum's a woman, I'm very definitely a girl.
NB I don't look anything like a girl unfortunately!
NB2 I hate golf and tennis....so perhaps I never will be middle aged! LOL!

I've felt positively ancient lately. None of my parts seem to work properly, most noticeably my brain. My memory is like my Gran's used to be. I use everyone's name except that of the person I'm talking to.
I always said I'd never be like that, and guess what..???
LOL

I think it was W C Fields who said "you're as young as the woman you feel"...only fair we girls change the words a bit to suit us! :o)

Tenderness contains an element of sadness. It is not the sadness of feeling sorry for yourself or feeling deprived, but it is a natural situation of fullness. You feel so full and rich, as if you were about to shed tears. Your eyes are full of tears, and the moment you blink, the tears will spill out of your eyes and roll down your cheeks. In order to be a good warrior, one has to feel this sad and tender heart. Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche
