Tenderness contains an element of sadness. It is not the sadness of feeling sorry for yourself or feeling deprived, but it is a natural situation of fullness. You feel so full and rich, as if you were about to shed tears. Your eyes are full of tears, and the moment you blink, the tears will spill out of your eyes and roll down your cheeks. In order to be a good warrior, one has to feel this sad and tender heart. Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche

Madeleine has a noticeable (and eye catching) birth defect in her right eye pupil - not obvious in this picture. It looks like the black of her pupil has run into the rest of her eye - like a tear drop.

Is there an inbetween of pessimist and optimist cos I dont think I fit either of these descriptions LOL :o)
Gotta be either pessoptimist or opessimist. Think most of us would fall into those categories!
Nice photo Ruth!
I often love to lie on a nice grassy slope and look up into the sky at the clouds and dream!
I was wondering, Ruth, why is it that your husband doesn't like Leonard Cohen?
Pat; as long as the grass is dry!
Annie; hubby says it's all too much of a dirge and makes him feel moribund.
So pensive and pretty.
I so love clouds - watching them is so much fun. These are beautiful.
Great quote -- can I be a pessopmist? :D I would love to be an optimist all the time, but it just doesn't happen.
