I know I am breaking my own rule by posting a photograph that I did not take myself but Icarus highlighted this project on Time And A Word and I want to share it with you.
Children at a rural school in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh are running a photoblog about daily life in their village, Kalleda. The school gives children from poor families a free education.

I'm so glad you posted about this on your blog today - I went to the BBC site and read the story and was moved by the children's determination and love of photography. What a great project!
Hope you have a lovely day Ruth

Saving this one for when I get back, looks so interesting
Have a great day
I haven't read the link yet, but we take an education so much for granted. Here they will build a school themselves in order to get one.
I'll go and read it now.
Thanks Ruth.
Nice one, Ruth! This is really my kind of project, which is why I reacted instantly when I found it on the beeb site.
And it just seemed such a good thing to spread it around. Besides anything else, the kids are all totally briliant photographers! It was good to tell them so on Flickr. Knowing the buzz we all get from our communics. with the world, it is so warming to imagine how they must feel to find the world coming to them! XXXXXXXXX
