I am reminded of a short story by Isaac Asimov that told of the coming of a new race from outer space - the perceived threat to Earth unified all the peoples to a single identity and purpose.Anniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08273873865160002759noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4722602660942213698.post-25096959716860524432007-06-03T12:18:00.000+01:002007-06-03T12:18:00.000+01:00So true!I have never understood colour prejudice. ...So true!
I have never understood colour prejudice. We adopted a mixed race child, who had a lot of trouble at school. I encouraged him to see it as "their" problem, not his, as they were cutting themselves off from a wealth of human contact.
I told him that when they were jibing him (he used to get eggs thrown at him and spat on but wouldn't let me go to the Head)that he had to say that they were "small minded" and if they didn't understand what that meant to go and ask their mothers!!!! I don't suppose he had the courage, but I felt that it would get their mothers involved and they might put them straight!lilymarlenehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12370053859106368722noreply@blogger.com
